I see people with hearts that are broken,
Shattered by things of the past,
Consumed by a hatred not spoken
That drained all the love they had.
Not that forgiveness is easy,
But only you could stand in your way.
The hurt that you feel, I know that it's real,
But something inside you would say

More than yourself is affected
When bitterness covers your eyes.
Relationships, families rejected
For fear they might shatter your pride.
Someone needs the love that you should share,
But you're too busy protecting your heart.
When it's all about you, the things that you do
Are tearing someone else apart
It's time to change your heart and be whole again.
Time to renew your mind be a better man.
Jesus can take what is broken and make it anew,
But you gotta let it go, turn around,
And let love abound;
And God will see you through.
